English: In the Trappist monasteries an extra strong and good ale was brewed during the lent to keep the hunger at bar. The sweet drops on an empty stomach, combined with the much idle time occasionally led to less steadfast members of the order giving in to more earthly excesses. They went under the name "Malus Pater" - the bad father. With this ale inspired by the trappists you can now even do the same. And remember: God sees everything, but he doesn’t tell!

0.5 bottle. Clear, very dark crimson color and a large, fluffy, delicately off-white head. Aroma of malts, perfume, flowers, some yeasts, hints of caramel, bananas, and a touch of spices. Taste is malty, heavy, baked potatoes, caramel of course, fruity notes, and I appear to be sensing some spices too. A full body, a creamy texture, and an almost flat carbonation. Finish is long, sweet, a tad more refined than the rest; it has this weird, chemical ending note which is quite widespread among Belgian Quadrupels. Overall, quite a decent brew, not very drinkable but certainly interesting.

Was already late evening, and this one passed by.. quite without big impression. Solid quad, bit sharp, but decent maltiness, some dried fruits, some toasted malts, even light coffeeish, kinda dry woody. Decent

Appropriately carbonated for the style as it spills slowly out the top on opening. Pours black and surprisingly without head (maybe it all spilled out). Beautifully sweet aroma and flavour. Complex date and dark fruit flavours ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nieduża ale gęsta kremowa piana w szkle, barwa mahoniowa, osad drożdżowy w postaci małych drobinek w piwie. Aromat fantastyczny - intensywne ciemne winogrona, czereśnie, kandyzowane i suszone owoce (rodzynki, daktyle, figi, papaja, gruszka), wanilia, dziki miód spadziowy i oczywiście porto i brandy. W smaku, w przeciwieństwie do zapachu, mniej słodko, dominuje susz, ciemne owoce, nuty dębowe, przyprawowe, waniliowo-likierowe a nawet kakaowe.
