Clear dark black red brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, light berry - black currant, light heavy yeasty, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100624]

Draft. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, prunes, over ripe fruits, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish.

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours dark brown and towards black with a creamy, dense and tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, yeasty fruity and breadish. Phenolic, liqourice, roasted and dark malty. Fruity and phenolic. Mild yeasty spiced. Sharp phenolic on the back of the tongue.

On tap. Surprisingly close to black with a warm reddish hue and a creamy beige head leaving laces. The nose has plenty of fat prunes and other dried fruits, brown sugar and friendly phenols. Very full-bodied with lovely dried fruit notes and also some licorice. The yeastiness is rather downplayed but lots of friendly phenols and a warming alcohol. Has a vague late tartness. My kinda beer! 180910

Bottled@Beer Hunters, Pori. Quite much black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is toffee, raisins, liquorice, some ashes, alcohol and quite strong stuff. Flavour is toffee, sweet malts, some roasted and toasted notes mild grass, some caramel and nice. Pleasant, even though will probably win on aging it a bit.

Bottled. Hazy near black, small beige head. Coffee awith sugar. Sweet and full bodied wtih clean, rounded mouthfeel. Crystal malt and coffee, some cocoa. Drier finish with growing bitterness and just a tingle of alcohol.

Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, dried fruits and liquorice with notes of alcohol.
Warming alcoholic finish.
Too sweet.

Draft @ Plan B, Copenhagen. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty aroma. Sweetish fruity malty såpicy yeasty caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty finish.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting, December 2010. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head and lacings. Nose is rye, caramel, fruit and nuts. Dark fruity and nutty flavor with a whiff of caramel. Smooth and full bodied. A bit of alcohol lingering . . Almost as good as expected!!! Nice.

The color is almost black. Aroma of caramel, malt, candi sugar, lightly soapy. Good body, strong caramel flavor, a bit too alcoholic, with some sweetness and traces of liquorice. Unrefined. Good, not great.
