3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
14th December 2010. At the Euston Tap with Harrisoni. Incredible label on this beer - made me gasp and laugh out loud. Very controversial but I like it’s subversive attitude towards the Monks! Anyway the beer - Clear dark brown beer, no head. Softish dry palate. Sweetish Belgian Strong style beer. Coca Cola and some fruit and bubblegum sweetness. Dry finish with a sublte pinch of spice. Not bad but not my favourite Beer Here beer!

Draught. Weak aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. Big stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is malty and sweetish with a good bready note. Vinous touch as well. Flavourful and well-balanced.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Euston Tap thanks to Ken. Cloudy dark brown. Thick lasting beige head. Spicy hop Belgian Bit of oak or wood. Intense blackcurrant. I love the fruit and aroma but then dies a little but still close to the first Pannepot I ever had. As close to Caulier Pannepot 2005 I have had.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. It’s a clear, dark reddish brown beer with a very small head. Dried fruits like prunes and raisins on the nose, some alcohol and roasted malts as well. The alcohol barely detectable. The aroma has some bitterness and coffee hints to support the dried fruits and warming alcohol, it’s smooth, full-bodied and warming, finishing with a little too less flavor but sufficient warmth. A really nice one, but it lacks a bit on complexity. 110513

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 500ml (Beer Hunters, BB 06/2015)
Deep dark brown color, small beige head. Caramelly, Belgian yeasty nose. Very soft palate. Alcoholic, caramelly, plummy with some dates and hops too. Quite dry, but has ageing potential.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Near black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of dried fruit, banana, spice and vineous alcohol. Sweetish and full flavour with dark dried fruits, dark sugar, nuts and a touch of licorice. Balancing hops like those bad boys at the Westvleteren monastery also use

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, bought @ Kihoskh, Cph.
Pour is deep red-brown with a fizzy, off-white head that soon disappears. Aroma is lovely complex. Lots of raisins, plums, mild tobacco, dark chocolate, sweet Belgian sugars. Low carbonation, great creamy and light oily mouthfeel. Flavour is vinous, slightly harsh, good fruitiness, lots of plums, caramel, light dark chocolate. Fine bitterness at the end. This is a very good example of a Quad, but there is a slight harshness that detracts if compared to the ’real’ Belgians.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
tap at ølbaren sometime june 2010
pitch dark, smooth lacing light brown head.
faint aroma of licorice, dry hops, faint roasted stuff.
flavor is licorice - sweet, roasted stuff. after a while in the glass the beer flavor improved, and got some boozy and aged beer characters that were quite nice.
