COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: In the Trappist monasteries an extra strong and good ale was brewed during the lent to keep the hunger at bar. The sweet drops on an empty stomach, combined with the much idle time occasionally led to less steadfast members of the order giving in to more earthly excesses. They went under the name "Malus Pater" - the bad father. With this ale inspired by the trappists you can now even do the same. And remember: God sees everything, but he doesn’t tell!

pours a very dark prown with a small brown head. Stuff in here is a big malt profile, dark sweet dried fruits, caramel, yeast, spices and some fruits (I kinda got some banana thoughts). Reminded me alot of the Rochefort 10.

Good solid old skool interpretation. Spice and stinky soy / vegemite drive the flavours. There’s a little milk chocolate and minerals to finish. Hides the 10% abv very well and this is quite quaffable for a quad.
