This was excellent. A very well-typed baltic-style porter. Dry and earthy with decent hops but this is not an ’imperial porter’ as done by Americans. It has the right thinness to it to keep it a porter (and drinkable!). Very very well done, one of the better beers I’ve tasted in awhile.

Color negro intenso con espuma beige duradera. Aromas a caramelo, café y maltas tostadas. En boca entra bien con su densidad media, acompañada de un ligero dulzor. El final es amargo con matices de café muy equilibrado, bien integrado. ¡Estupenda!

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Decent, tan-coloured head with a solid stand. Spotty lacing down the glass. Some brownish highlights to a pitch black body. Gentle aroma of grainy chocolate malts, ashy and roasted. Coffee and cocoa to the taste buds leading to a malt bitter ending with an impact of dark spices far behind. Soft in the mouth. Fine bodied. Tasty and likable porter (Tromsø, 04.05.2013).

pours black with a large light tan head. smells...roasty malt, smokey, choc, some coffee and floral notes. tastes..smokey and burnt malt, sugar caramel, some dark fruit, coffee and alcohol.

Bottle. Pours black with little tan head. Roasted and alcohol aroma. Roasted and dark chocolate taste. Full body.

Originally rated 16092012. Bottle 0.5 at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is black with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Roastiness, chocolate, sweetness and malts.

0.5l flaske. Svart farge,stor beige skumtopp,mye kullsyre. Smaker røstet malt,lakris,kaffe,sjokolade,gjær,tre,eik. En smakfull porter med lang bitter ettersmak

Bottled. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, fruits, caramel and some mild floral notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some chocolate with a nice bitterness kicking in as well. Balanced.

500ml bottle (Punavuoren Ahven)
Nice rich roast aroma. Big and fairly burnt, but also having a mellowness to it. In the mouth there’s a slight sourness, but a nice roast. Argh, my keys won’t light up on my keypad, so I can’t see what I’m typing! Very burnt, but more drinkable than I’d expect from something so burnt, as it wasn’t completely avoiding ashiness. Anna liked it even more than me, but she should get her own account. Carbonation a little harsh. Good malt-oriented beer from BH, who normally focus more on the hops.

Bottle. Pours a near-black color with a moderate light brown head. Nose has some bitterness and some roasting in there. Taste is heavy with some dark bitter/sour notes, and a bitter finish. Smooth.
