CanIHave4Beers (3166) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - APR 17, 2014
Pours basically black with a medium sized head & decent lacking on the glass.

The aroma is sweet & roasty. It’s got some licorice and molasses as well as a touch of chocolate, dark fruit, & raisin.

The flavor is nicely bitter and far roastier than the aroma would have you expecting. It’s got some dark roasted coffe, some raisin & plum, along with some earthy happiness. It’s mildly sweet and lightly smoky.

This thing is loaded. Shoyu...balsamicy most. Palate its more of a 3.5. Dark chocolate notes but milk chocolate overall. Finish is ever so lacking...just nudge would put it in the right place.

Bottle 500 ml from RMgep, thanks Stefan! Poured into a snifter, ABV 7.5% Pours a black coloured beer, with one finger of brown head on top, a bit thin, with good retention though and quite a lace left around the glass. Aroma of milky chocolate along with a light roasted malts. Taste of milky chocolate, a bit sweet at first, then roasted malts and their bitterness are coming forward. The bitterness carries on the aftertaste, with good duration. A bit thin on the body, I’d like it thicker. Still, medium thin, okay carbonation. Overall nice beer, and very drinkable.
