Aroma has cocoa, licorice and molasses. Taste is of strong bitter roasted malt, sweet molasses and chocolate. More and more cocoa through the glass. A bit rough. Finishes strongly bitter with some sweetness. Molasses thick and sweet with licorice salty at the end. Definitely the baltic-y roughness, but a lot of flavor too.

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head quickly recedes to hug rim. Milk chocolate and espresso aromas. Medium bodied with smoky milk chocolate front to back. Lasting roasted espresso finish.

This was excellent. A very well-typed baltic-style porter. Dry and earthy with decent hops but this is not an ’imperial porter’ as done by Americans. It has the right thinness to it to keep it a porter (and drinkable!). Very very well done, one of the better beers I’ve tasted in awhile.

Color negro intenso con espuma beige duradera. Aromas a caramelo, café y maltas tostadas. En boca entra bien con su densidad media, acompañada de un ligero dulzor. El final es amargo con matices de café muy equilibrado, bien integrado. ¡Estupenda!

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo. Decent, tan-coloured head with a solid stand. Spotty lacing down the glass. Some brownish highlights to a pitch black body. Gentle aroma of grainy chocolate malts, ashy and roasted. Coffee and cocoa to the taste buds leading to a malt bitter ending with an impact of dark spices far behind. Soft in the mouth. Fine bodied. Tasty and likable porter (Tromsø, 04.05.2013).
