Copenhagen beer festival. Cloudy gold beer. Plenty of bubblegum in this wheat beer, but not cloying. Somewhat spoily by an overdry palate.

Spicy (coriander), very herbal aromas. Clean flavors, spicy, minimally sweet, minimally bitter, very herbal. Fresh and easy to drink, very cloudy. Head dies quickly and the palate suffers a little. Luminescent. Bottle from Papsoe, thanks Henrik!

33cl bottle from Systembolaget. Labelled as Vår Wit. Slightly hazy golden colour with a massive foamy head that settled down fast. Aroma is floral with notes of grass, yeast, wheat. Flavour is classic belgian Wit. Notes of wheat, yeast, grass. Some banana and coriander as well. Short aftertaste. Fun fact: according to the label, this beer (BeerH ere Vårwit) was brewed by BrewDog in Scotland.

Bottled. The aroma has citrus, some coriander, light wheat. Hazy, yellow-orange coloured beer with a good, white head. The taste is light sweet and light bitter, citric, spicy. Refreshing overall. Nice one.

14-MAY-2011, bottle @home, from "Fish & Beer". Pours very hazy light orange with low white head. Orange peel is dominant spicey yeasty weisse-like notes kick in as well. Quite creamy ending a little thin but overall a top weisse.

Cloudy dark yellow with a big white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, fruity light yeasty, citrus and coriander. Flavor is medium sweet. Dry and light citric finish. Not as sweet as the Germans and not as citrussy as the Belgians. Works for me. 020511

Bottle. First of all, this beer just looks fantastic. Hazy deep orange body with a massive white crown. This is what I’d like all my light-colored beers to look like, but it’s not very wit-like at all. Peculiar. Aroma is also only slightly reminiscent of a wit; banana, oats, fresh hay and spicy esters with hints of coriander but with a much richer, maltier feel. This is really something else, so I guess the "wheat ale" category here on RB is more spot on that the bottle’s own "Vårwit" ("SpringWit") label representation. Taste is spicy, grassy hoppiness with wheat-and-oats-like tones and citric hints. High carbonation that works well with the slightly heavier palate than a normal wit would be comfortable with. Balanced and refreshing, and definitely one of the best wheat-based beers I’ve had in a while, the VårWit/Tia Loca is a real springtime hit from Beer Here/Brew Dog.

Bottle. Pours corn-yellow with haze and a small head. Medium sparkling carbonation. Yeast, banana, citrus and a smooth, fat sweetness from the wheat. Medium light body. Very refreshing. The fusion is quite succesful.
