COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

YULEWINE IS BIG AND UNCOMPROMISING ENGLISH STYLE BARLEY WINE MADE FROM 100% CERTIFIED ORGANIC INGREDIENTS. WHEN POURED IT WILL EMBRACE YOU WITH ITS RUM€LIKE NOTES FROM DARK SUGAR ADDED TO THE KETTLE. MODEST HOPING TAKES THE BACKSEAT TO MOUTH FILLING MALT CHARACH TER CHASED BY WARMING ALCOHOL. ENJOY IT AT CELLAR TEMPERATURE AFTER A GOOD MEAL NOW OR KEEP IS FOR A FEW YEARS AS IT WILL IMPROVE FOR YEARS TO COME.

500ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, candi-sugar,caramel, yeast, raisins, and slight diacetyl. Poured very deep amber/brown in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, rocky, off-white/tan/beige head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet, and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malt, caramel, raisins, hop, diacetyl, figs, and some dust. Medium to full body. Viscous, creamy, then lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, caramel, diacetyl, hop, finish is light to medium bitter and medium sweet. 11%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Pours tawny brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very bready with some toffee, cream, very toasty malt and some nuttiness. Medium body thats a bit rich and there is a bit of soft carbonation. The flavor starts much like the aroma and is very malty. The finish adds a touch of hops. Decent barleywine.

Pours mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes leaving spider lacing to hug rim. Dark caramel and breadfruit aromas. Thick with sweet dark caramel upfront turning to mild bitter earthy hops in the lasting finish.

The pour is a very hazy, deep crimson color with a moderate, pillowy, frothy, khaki-colored head which is mostly lasting and leaves some frothy lace. The nose is sweet and sugary like a rum, some raisins, very biscuity, toasted caramel, and slight maple. The flavor is similar with some maple, lots of dark rye bread, raisins and dates, some toasty caramels, and some brown sugar. The palate is full, velvety, slightly warming, and soft to lively. The finish is bitter from the dark rye-like notes but mostly still sweet with caramels and golden raisins, and a lingering maple note. An interesting BW with so much bready and raisin influence. The palate fit the beer well and the 11% was fairly well masked. The complexity seemed to lack for the strength and drinkable nature of the beer. Not a bad beer in this style but lacked some of the intricacies and character of better examples.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours nearly opaque amber with a creamy beige head. Aromas of strongly roasted malt and treacle. Full bodied. Flavor is brown sugar and treacle. Sort of strong toffee. Finishes on the sweet side. Heat is not even to be noticed. It drinks like a much weaker ale. Tasty. Deadly.

Poured an amber/red colour with aroma of fruits and spices. Taste was similar to the smell. Not really the best barley wine I’ve had. Preferred their Jule IPA.

500 ml bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, plum, raisin and brown sugar. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of toffee, fruittiness and light brown sugar with a smooth warming toffee finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a off white head. Aroma is of dark fruits like figs, raisins and dates, caramel, sweet brown sugar notes and spice notes. Flavor follows the nose with lots of dark fruits again raisins, fig, and dates, along with caramel, brown sugar, light spice and dark berry notes. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall a solid Barley Wine, but fairly disappointing compared to most of Beer Here’s brews.

pours a dark and murky brown with a minimal white head. Nose is Biscuity malts and caramel with some vanilla and banana. Taste is hop bitterness in the very front which gives way to malty sweetness and transitions back to a bitter finish. Mouthfeel is astringent and oily with heavy body. This gets better as it warms so my advice would be to let it sit for while before indulging if you have kept it cool.

Bottle. This bottle says "Yule Ale" but the picture is the same. Dark brown and hazy. A nice beige head is two fingers and lasts well. Malt and grain with fruit in the aroma. Malty fruit are also prominent flavor themes. Yeast and dark sugar. Hops are tasted but they are light. Bitterness is moderate. Alcohol is not over done but grows. It also adds warming on this Christmas Eve.
