COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

YULEWINE IS BIG AND UNCOMPROMISING ENGLISH STYLE BARLEY WINE MADE FROM 100% CERTIFIED ORGANIC INGREDIENTS. WHEN POURED IT WILL EMBRACE YOU WITH ITS RUM€LIKE NOTES FROM DARK SUGAR ADDED TO THE KETTLE. MODEST HOPING TAKES THE BACKSEAT TO MOUTH FILLING MALT CHARACH TER CHASED BY WARMING ALCOHOL. ENJOY IT AT CELLAR TEMPERATURE AFTER A GOOD MEAL NOW OR KEEP IS FOR A FEW YEARS AS IT WILL IMPROVE FOR YEARS TO COME.

Bottle. A slightly unclear one, golden-orange in color and with a dense, finger-thick, light beige head. Grainsy and slightly citrusy nose with malts and some beef-stock. Hides the alcohol quite well. The flavor is citrusy and malty with a nice bitterness. Some beefstock and the alcohol is present but far from pushing. Warming though, full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Malty, hoppy finish where the alcohol finally has room to play and does so. Overall, a very nice one, although not very Yule-ish in my book. 110513

Pours a clear and dark copper beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is malt, caramel, bread and sweetness. The flavor follows the nose with additional hops. The palate is bitterness with some notes of sweetness. Overall a good beer.

@CPH BF 2011. Amber colour, no head. Aroma is vegetables, hops, alcohol, some slight nectar and honey as well. Flavour is quite much the same. Big, but not disturbing, notes of alcohol. Still quite balanced.

Bottle sample @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours a near-black brown body with a small caramel head. Nose is coffee, caramel, herbs and spices. Taste is a lovely sweet blend of coffee, leather and caramel-wooden tones. Smooth and dangerously drinkable; Beer Here Yule Wine lingers nonchalantly in the space between a stout and a barley wine. Good stuff; this is among the best beers I’ve had from Beer Here and could easily become a Christmas favorite.
