COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout made of barley malt, hops, muscovado sugar, honey, yeast and water. 12 % alc. vol.

Nasty Suicide, originally a home brew, brewed with Hanoi Rocks blasting in the background. Apparently the guys at Beer Hunters liked this, as I was invited to brew this for them. I was invited in a good time, as this beer will be lauched at my very good friends Wedding. Mes and Sim, this beer will prove my love to both of you. Not that I think marriage is a Nasty Suicide, but leaving the past behind and entering the new stage kind of symbolises a Nasty Suicide for the past. I’m bad at saying beautiful things, and probably even worse att brewing

All the best for you, dear Mes and Sim, and may your love last longer than this beer... Pat (oh6gdx).

(Draught at SOPP’11, 20110728) The beer poured black with small and light brown head. Aroma had liquorice, roasted malts, hint of coffee and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were liquorice, roasted malts, chocolate, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Alcohol was well hidden and flavours were nicely balanced. Great!

(Draught@SOPP Helsinki) Very dark brown with a tiny, beige head. Aroma of sourish, licoricey malt, and some alcohol when whirling. Sourish and smooth oatmeal flavor with roasted maltiness, lots of licorice. Quite full body, low CO2. A tasty, smoothly licoricey IS with well hidden alcohol.

Bottle at The Wedding. I think this was my favourite beer of the night. It’s my sort of beer. Smooth milk chocolate - a good malt beer. Beer is about the magic of yeast fermenting malt - and this beer captures that rather than concealing it with hops or carbonation or filtering, or some other bastardisation. This is fermented malt laid open and exposed to the senses. The hops here are used to complement and accentuate the malt: a mild citric note. Lovely drinking beer.

Sourish aroma with some roasted malt. Flavour is sourish too, with hints of alcohol, roasted and sweet malt. Some harsh bitterness too. Oily palate. This has something in common with other BH imperial stouts.
