(Draught at SOPP’11, 20110728) The beer poured black with small and light brown head. Aroma had liquorice, roasted malts, hint of coffee and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were liquorice, roasted malts, chocolate, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Alcohol was well hidden and flavours were nicely balanced. Great!

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Pitch black, somewhat viscous. Big licorice aroma. Sweet and full bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Salmiak and molasses, some smoked licorice and tobacco. Finishes slightly syrupy with peppery heat and salty bitterness.

Bottle at Papsø - Thanks. Pitch black - offwhite head. High malty, herbal, fruity, oiley, sweet malty, black berries, light rubber, mumitrold, solbær/brombær, light licorice, smokey. Nice.

Bottled. Black beer with no head. Very oily texture. Dark fruity aroma with notes of honey, roasted malts, preserved dark fruits. Taste is dark molasses, roasted malts, bitter hops, dark fruits, a little coffee. Very complex, bittersweet finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is spiced and dark malty, Sweet meaty and dark malty. Roasted malty and light chocolate note. Sweet and dark malty finish.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, alcohol, roasted malt, spices, and dried fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, caramel, and dried fruits, leading to a dry roasted and alcoholic finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of oh6gdx. Pours an opaque black with a tiny beige head. Hard if sweet roasty nose, dark dried fruits. Solid body, low carbonation, sweet roast, prunes and raisins, a whiff of smoke before a warming alcoholic finish. Nice! 140212

Pours pitch black colour with minimal head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and light coffee. Flavour of bitter dry chocolate, roasted malts and mild coffee nots. Somewhat bitter and dry palate.

Draught at SOPP2011, Helsinki. Almost opaque black color. Thick roasty aroma with coffee, licorice and tart alcohol. Sweet roasty flavor with coffee, licorice, toffee, tart fruity alcohol and honey. Full bodied. Could have more bitterness or something edgy to balance the sweetness. Decent dessert sipper.
