Traditional strong India Pale Ale made using four types of hops in the style of those exported to the colonials in the 19th century. Pale in colour, strong in alcohol with a hoppy and refreshing bitterness.

Made with Challenger, Target, Citra & Bramling Cross hops and Pale & Crystal malts.

A robust companion to spicy or barbecued food.

Bottled, 330ml at The Beer Tree, Banbury. Gold with slight white head. Another thin, sweet beer unfortunately, fruity, wet cardboard with a sligh stale note. The hops never really show through the sugary note. Dull.

330 ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Cloudy hazy amber honey colour with thin traces of yeast sediments; One-quarter finger head and residual white foam which faded in 20 seconds; Moderate lacing with notable small carbonation; Sweet aroma of ale malt, with grapefruit, floral, honey, light jackfruit, light alcohol, light pine, yeast and faint grass; Medium sweet taste of light ale malt, with citrus zest, faint yellow fruits, molasses, sticky light toffee, very light alcohol, faint of wet cardboard, dry biscuits, light pine, yeast, lime and expressive bitter hops; Light body. Dry, thin and slick palate; Mouth feel is a cross between IPA and ESA, with former’s citrus zest and hops mixed quite well with latter’s dryness, biscuit and booze. Not much variety in taste, but both styles very well expressed here. Pretty good!... Hoppiness is decent Citra-led grapefruit nose. Fruity , toffee and light pine taste. Bitterness is expressive, strong, tasty but not overtly astringent. Long lasting bitter-sweet finish. Lovely!... Quite dry after taste. Hoppy and bitter to mouth.

Comments: The IPA and ESA aspects are well presented in this brew. It is simple, but their basic elements are well expressed. Lightly hoppy with tasty bitter hops is what I like the most. Neat and decent, well worth trying!

Slightly hazy orange color, small white head. Nutty, light citrus and fruity notes in the nose. Medium-bodied. Fruity, very traditional English flavor with some "added" citrus. Light alcoholic touch.

Good, solid English-style ale, maybe not exactly IPA as far as I undestarnd, still nice well balanced beer.
