650 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a large, frothy and lacy head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and tobacco. Flavour of roasted malts, really strong, floral, bitter hops, raisins and some caramel. Quite extreme in all it’s bitterness. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a very long, roasty and bitter finish. Extreme and basically a black IPA. Awesome!

Poor old beer. Kinda played 2nd fiddle to the excitement of first practice, got lost in the buzz. Still, obviously accomplished. The beer that is.

Black Flag. Had my t-shirt on. I have the proof. Studio. Setting up. Twang twang, dum de dum. Korg noises. Somewhere between Keith and Adam.

1 pint bottle, poured a cloudy murky dark weird looking brew. Hoppier than it looks. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.65l bottle from Barley Wine. Been saving this for a while. It pours a near black body with a nice big almost creamy looking chocolaty head that’s quite lacing. It smells really nice with salty licorice, roasted malts, leather couch, soft vanilla, some chili-like coffee, also traces of chocolate and something slightly reminding of burned bread. Not bad at all. Oh, it’s soy-salty with tons of licorice in the taste this! The carbonation is definitely present and it has a good thick oily mouthfeel. Mmore salty licorice with both strong espresso coffee, south American coffee, something slightly spicy and the chocolate is dancing on my tongue. The alcohol percent is totally absent in this one. Roasted dark flavors with a salty soy and strong licorice touch would sum this one up pretty nicely. Flavors that I always want more of! 27.12.2012

65cl bottle. Duvel cup. Pours a real black colour with a huge light brown creamy head. Wonderful appearance. At the end looks more foggy. Roasted malts, vanilla and intense hops regarding aroma. Even wood, which is really surprising. Strong flavour: coffe, dark chocolate, roasted malts, brown sugar, heavy hops and a hint of nuts. One expects more sweetness when smelling the beer...that’s definetely not for begginers. Some alcohol presence, irrelevant though. Mouthfeel is full, carbonation just average. Amazing beer, very good Imperial Stout.

I grabbed a bottle of this at Total Wine for $5.99. I hadn’t had it before, and was in the mood for a bigger thicker dark beer. This is 11%, and smells every bit of that. Cold, it also tasted every bit of that. It REALLY opened up as it heated up, and almost tasted barrel aged. The second half of the bottle was great, and was a nice dessert beer. I would totally drink this again, and might try aging one or two bottles. This will get better, and will mellow out, with age. I haven’t really heard of this brewing company... but this is a great introduction!

Dark brown with a small brown head. Malty and fruity notes. malt, fruit, coffee, licorice and bitterness. Full body with a long bitter finish.
