Nice big hoppy nose - lots of woody earthy and leafy hop notes. Malt is toasty bready and perhaps a touch wheaty? Not many residual sugars to speak of in the nose. Very hoppy for style nose. Pours golden oeange with a great big mousy head and a lot of sticky lace. Nice looking brew for sure. Lots of toasted malts, big on the earthy hops. Caramely notes, bread, some fruity hop notes as well. I might get a hint of butter, but not overly distracting. Lingering bitterness, balanced, drinkable with only the slightest hint of alcohol.

Pours a murky light red with a beige like head. Tight bubbles with light carbonation. Aromas consist of licorice, dark cherries, and plums. Tastes like it smells. Left my snifter with tons of lacing. Great brew.

22oz bomber of unknown vintage. Pours an opaque amber with minimal off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is citrus (mainly lemon), booze, floral hops, and bread. Taste is hoppy, but with a nice malt balance. A bit hot, but not too bad. Floral finish. Not as good as their Imperial Stout, but an excellent ABW.

Growler. Hazy amber with a dense, spotty, white head and some lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, caramel and fruity yeast esters. Flavor is sweet and malty, caramel, bitter hops and light alcohol. Medium body with a long bitter finish. Good beer, drinks like an IIPA that is a bit on the sweet side.

Two fingers of head on a hazy, orange/straw colored body. The smell is lemon and barley. The taste has a strong alcohol flavor, moderate lemon and grapefruit bitterness with a malt backbone but not really showing up strong. The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation. A nice barleywine.

On draught at Lucky Labrador Barleywine and Big Beer Festival. 2011 vintage. Hazy golden color. Hoppy, but not as much as it could be. Sweet caramel and spice on finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn
Hazy amber color with generous compact head. Strong aroma of malt, crystal, perfumy, hoppy, a bit fruity, light anise. Smooth mouthfeel, full bodied; flavor of malt, caramel, light toffee, some crystal malt, and very strong bitterness, with quite some resins.
Good but not exciting.
