jazz88 (2202), San Francisco, California, USA May 8, 2008 Bottle. A hazy golden orange color with a thin to weak white head. This seems to be undercarbondated. A light grassy, pine hop oil and sugary aroma that was quite nice albeit subtle. Fairly thin and light in body without an aggressively bitter finish or heavy body. Floral, pine, grapefruit and light caramel flavors. Delicately light. It’s hard believe this is 9% abv.
scrizzz (473), kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 19, 2008 bright leafy pine hop aroma, more pale than most iipas and an aggressive stark white head. maybe it’s the suggestive title, but i love how this beer has that full whole leaf character. it’s not as oily as others, but full bodied and stands out more with the paler malt base. beers with this quality can fall sharply, but this beer rides the wave consistently. very very nice. goldtwins (3721), Nesconset, New York, USA Aug 18, 2008 RBSG ’08: Poured a hazy light brownish yellow color with a creamy off-white head. Citrusy aroma was decent but lacking. Sweet malt flavor with a pine hop end and bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. lb4lb (1340), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle from ditmier. Thanks!
Pour is a nice clear amber with a big lasting whitish head. Smell is nice and fruity, slightly sweet maltiness, and hoppy. Nicely balanced. Taste is balanced as well. Sweetness and fruity hops go back and forth across the tongue and a light bitterness lingers. Not overly bitter, but nicely hopped with some pine and sweet fruit. Very solid beer overall and surprised by the low style percentile. Vac (2231), San Diego, California, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle shared by sick_boy282. Pours with a slightly cloudy orange body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s bitter and hoppy with piney notes, some grapefruit notes and an underlying sweet maltiness. Medium bodied, tingly and a touch dry. Sparky27 (498), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bomber. Pours a hazy honey color with one finger off white head and decent lacing. Nose is citrus and pine mostly with some faint malts. Taste is light caramel malt upfront that gives way to pink grapefruit and a puckering resin finish. Medium, semi-creamy mouth feel. Hides the alcohol well but a bit unbalanced for the style.
