Poperinge (353), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada Sep 14, 2008 Page 70 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and I had this at the Boston Fenway Park location. This might be the best Brown Ale I have had and I even ordered a second one. Only 156 of MJ’s 500 Classic Brews to go. gearbike (373), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA Aug 22, 2008 On tap at brew pub. Not bad but my least favorite of some great beers I tried. A bit sweet and lacking a real nutty backbone. Dickinsonbeer (2550), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 1, 2008 Tap at Fenway location. Pours a deep dark brown with a decent head and some lace. Aroma is light coffee, nutty chocolate and some light solvent. More dark chocolate in the flavor, toasted malts, nutty, light pineyness, caramel malts, and a thin body and weak aftertaste. WeeHeavySD (1867), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA May 27, 2008 Tap @ Logan Terminal C location. Pours dark dark brown with a tan ring. Nose is light and sweet. Taste is full of chocolate some coffee and some serious chocolate malt. Overall its a quite nice nut brown. VTHopHead (702), Barre, Vermont, USA May 26, 2008 From the Fenway location - Poured a clear, dark reddish brown in color with a small light tan head. Aroma was of dark roasted malts with a hint of some chocolate and mild of hops. Flavor was slightly sweet with notes of caramel and flowery hops mixed in with the roasted malts. Palate was surprisingly thin, but overall a very drinkable beer.
