Clear red brown beer, small creamy light beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, dried fruits, rotten banana, sweet port, mocha. MF: soft to no carbon, light body. Taste: bit of red fruits, toast, bitter hops, mocha, rotten fruit. Aftertaste: mocha to coffee bitter, orange peel. Way too light, not complex enough.

Dark brown, small head. Nuts n’ fruit in the nose, with a malt heavy nutty roasty flavor.

On tap at the source in Lowell. Pours a solid dark brown with a stingy off white head that was almost totally gone before the glass arrived at my table. Smells of caramel and toffee with a hint of chocolate and a smattering of earthy English hops. Smell is pretty good. Taste is malty caramel and toffee with a hint of diacetyl. There is an earthy, mineral bite towards the finish that builds with each sip and really ruined this one for me. Medium body and carbonation with a sweet slick mouthfeel. Somethings off in the taste here, I wouldn’t order this one again.

From tap at Fenway. Pours dark brown, yet clear, with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malty and breadish. Mild fruity, roasted malty and light breadish. Breadish roasted malty flavoured. Medium dry finish.

For a nut brown, this is relatively tasteless. Pretty in color. Good head. Smooth on the tounge, but boring.

A dark brown ale with a thin light moka head. Light nutty malt aroma, a bit of fusel alcohol and burned wood. In mouth, a good burned roasted malt, very nutty, maybe of bit of autolyzed yeast off flavours. On tap at BBW, Logan airport, July 19 2009.
