Note: 7/10

Draft at Canal Street location before the Bruins played the Pittsburgh Penguins. 2/24/2016. Slightly hazy gold in color with some legs of head. Aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, and floral/grassy boldness.

Taste of grapefruit, lemon/orange peel through the center with the floral and grassy notes coming in on the finish. It does display a good amount of hop varieties here to give this profile. The texture has a big dryness from the bittering hops. Medium carbonation and medium-full, yeasty body. The bitterness rides the line of being overly abrasive. Alcohol is also kind of noticeable in the flavor. I mean, it is what they say it is, a huge IBU, booze monster of an Imperial IPA.

Pours a clear golden with a small white head that leaves really nice lacing. Nose is of nice, intense oranges. Taste is lightly sweet, moderately bitter and offers more oramges and some alcohol. Moderate body and carbonation with a juicy mouthfeel. A nice hop fix! Brings a little sunshine to your day!

Bizarre. Je n’arrive pas à m’y faire.

On tap on the premise. Pours golden with medium white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of diacetyl, butter, hops, citrus, pine. Taste is of diacetyl, acidity, bitterness, citrus, hops, tropical fruits. Palate: Medium-full bodied, sticky on the lips. Medium-high carbonation. Overall: Ok.

on tap on the premises - boston. unclear bright golden with a creamy white head offering good retention and lacing. sweeetish honeyed mangoes, sugary candies - strawberries mostly; buttery woodsiness, rose petals, salt, clean yeast if not a not-so-unpleasant diacetyl presence. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; sweet and a bit harsh piney-citrusy finish. pretty decent double ipa.

Lots of pine and citrus and respectably done overall. Lots of pine actually. Nice fresh hops here. Surprisingly good. Pours golden with great head and lacing. Light bitter finish with some hint of sweetness. Tap at Fenway brewpub.

Mediocre for a 100 IBU beer. Person I was with had flights and they we're awful and this appears to be best they've got. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
