Not a bad kolsch, very drinkable, has that extra flavor that makes it more than a pils, good summer beer, golden in color, well done.

Wonderful memories of hay season on the farm come flooding back when I smell this. It smells like a hayfield. Thin head; clear, straw color. Has a faintly sour taste with a very light mouthfeel. On the dry side.

Beer Works Kolsch - On draft in Salem. Poured a golden color, carbonation bubbles low in appearance, ok continuous rings of lacing. The aroma was grainy, no fruity esters. The flavor was grains, faint citrus, no significant fruity esters, lingering astringency in the finish with a decent hop bitterness. Mouthfeel was a tad grainy, slightly acidic.

Very, very pale straw-coloured pour with a tight white head. Clean malt aroma - crackery with a kiss of floral hops. Crackery base malt - very clean and excellent. Fresh and floral with loads of light zesty noble hops. Man - I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I do when I ordered it. Damn solid.

Draught at the Boston brewpub. Mild fruity aroma. Clear shiny yellow colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is fruity with a refreshing bitterness. Quite clean. Not unlike a real Kölsch.

A blonde Kolsch with a thin white head. In aroma, a very chalky powder with German hops, crisp. In mouth, a classy Kolsch with loads of Saaz hops, grainy malt, chalky and medium bodied. On tap at Canal St. brewpub July 11 2010.

Approximately 4 oz pour as part of a 4 beer taster (this was a bonus taster due to a keg change). Pour is clear golden with a lively white head. Aroma is straw and hay, along with a dusty earthiness. Taste starts nicely with the straw and hay, then gets a bit dusty and dirty, then shows some diacetyl. There is also something of a clove present which detracted. Palate is thin to medium, lowish carbonation. I saw them change the keg, so I know it was freshly tapped - yet tasted a bit past it. Too bad, I generally enjoy the style.

16 oz. draught at Fenway location. Deep golden pour with a thin white frothy head. Aroma of hops and grain. Nice taste of dough, hops and grains with some faint vanilla overtones. Great finish. I really enjoyed this considering some of their other offerings I’ve had are hit or miss.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAY 11, 2009
Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear pale gold color with a fizzy white head. Smelled of corn syrup, honey, and cereal grain. Light bodied with a distinct corn tortilla flavor accented by subdued skunky hops. Eh, not a very good Kolsch.
