Tap @ Salem. Pours an orangey gold in a tulip glass with a soft white head. Nose is fruity and malt. At first taste, nice fruit (apricot), sweetened malts and oak. Enjoyable. However, as the beer warmed the high alcohol became more present and became the dominant flavor, which diminished my overall my feelings about this one.

On draught at Fenway location, 5/9/2005. Listed as "Mysterion" though, from looking at the descriptions, I see little evidence that it is significantly different. Color is a copper-gold-peach. Light chill haze with a one-finger off-white head, well-retained. Aroma of light peaches, nectarines, Belgian yeast, touch of clove and candi sugar, and a bit of orange peel. Flavor boasts a subtle spicy clove and vanilla, while the Belgian yeast is ample and is well-complemented by a good malt backbone (belgian aromatic probably), orange zest notes, and a high hops apparency for the style (Styrian Goldings). The body is medium, with a bit of sticky candi-like residual sugar and the mouthfeel shows low carbonation, tingly and fluffy. Finishes with oranges, bits of candi sugar, hops and plenty of yeast.
