From tap at the Canal Street location. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild cornish and slight grassy. Caramelish, light grassy bitter and toasted malty. Bitter and caramelish finish. Rather bitter into the far finish.

Another solid, if unspectacular, seasonal. Very sweet and malty, good balance, medium bodied. Not amazing, but not bad at all.

A: The pour is amber in color with a white head.
S: Toasted malt and toffee aromas to start things off. There are some earthy and floral hop aromas as well as plenty of bread. Though overall, it’s not really all that aromatic.
T: The flavor starts off with lots of sweet malt, bread, and toffee. There are also plenty of earthy hop flavors. It’s sort of bitter for an Oktoberfest, unfortunately. It’s also lightly watery.
M: The body is light with medium carbonation.
O: Sort of odd flavors/bitterness for an Oktoberfest. A bit watery, too.

On tap at Salem Beer Works, 22 October 2009. Very handsome bright amber colour. Fruity & slightly bready. Sweetish and fruity flavour. Lots of biscuity malt. Quite tasty but a bit too sweet for my palate.

Clear, medium copper with thin head. Not much aroma. Flavor is malts with some carbonation bite and a bitter aftertaste. Not a good balance.

Had this one on draught at the brewpub on Canal Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Clear, medium amber pour with a lacy white head, lots of malts and breads in the nose (I’m seeing a pattern here) with nuanced maltiness in the character of the taste. A good Oktoberfestbier.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PilsnerPeter (3019) - Flushing, New York, USA - OCT 14, 2007
Tap at Canal Street Location: Copper pour with a thin white lacing. The nose is dominated by sweet, European malts. Decent malt character with a light caramel sweetness, accompanied by mild spicy notes. The finish is surprisingly hopped. I enjoy some bitterness in this style. Nice Oktoberfest.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 22, 2007
A true Oktoberfest style beer. This beer pours pale golden. The notes of true malt on the nose and a sweeter malt flavor on the palate offer a nice lightly hops on the finish.
