On tap at Hingham. Cola color with modest head and some lacing. Plenty of malts and a little smoke. fair amount of carbonation adds nicely to the drinkability.Overall light but not thin for type.

egajdzis (5401) - Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 8, 2009
[Draft in Lowell] Poured a lightly hazy, red amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, floral hops, caramel, toasted malts, resiny pine, and a bit of alcohol. Taste of caramel malts, dark fruits, light roast, molasses, and a bitter finish with some alcohol in there as well.

JorisPPattyn (8031) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 3, 2003
(draught) Dark amber, nearly chestnut; amber head. Very malty notes in the nose, bread, wholegrain, fresh-smelling. Bitter taste, from both hops and malts, nearly coffee-like. Full mouthfeel, warming sensation, alcohol. Not bad, should get rid of too coffee notes for a real old ale - maybe 'American strong' is OK

ravidesai (947) - Bombay, INDIA - JUN 6, 2003
(cask)dark brown, no head. malty bread aroma with a pungent hoppiness that hinted at big IBUs. very smooth, sweet and malty with a lot of hops in the finish. probably their best beer.
