Pours a deep brown with minimal tan lacy head. Aroma is subtle, mostly sweet caramel with some roasted malt. Taste is initially sweet with a bitter finish. Each successive sip gets a little more bitter and a little more displeasing. Palate is light with little carbonation. Overall an interesting beer I may have to try again in the future.

On nitro at the Fenway location. Arrived at the table a clear red with a creamy cream colored head that lasted through mid-glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt along with a bit of caramel. The flavor is again malt and caramel followed by some mild hops bitterness. Smooth on the palate no doubt attributable to the nitro push. Medium bodied. Enjoyable.

From tap at the Canal Street location. Pours clear and golden orange to amber with a small, creamy and off-white head. Aroma is fruity and mild hoppy. SMooth mouthfeel. Bitter, slight citrusy and crisp hoppy. Ends light bitter and dry malty.

A: The pour is amber in color with a finger of off-white head. S: Smells a bit sweet with plenty of bread and toffee malt. There are some floral hop notes as well as a bit of citrus peel and light citrus fruit. A light herbal and earth hop note in the background. T: As with the aroma, there is plenty of toasted malt as well as sweet toffee and a light caramel malt flavor. Some bread and light citrus, floral, and earthy hops. There is a very mild bitterness. M: Medium in both body and carbonation. O: A nice maltiness with a little bit of hop character.

Clear ruby red beer, very smooth creamy off-white head, very stable and adhesive. Aroma: sweet caramel, nutty, some chocolate. MF: light carbon, light to medium body. Taste: toasted malts, bit of nuts, little caramel, citrus fruits. Aftertaste: bitter hops, some mocha and coffee hints, very dry mouthfeeling.

On tap at Lowell Beer Works, 25 October 2009. Handsome. Very red. Not much head. Mainly fruity malt aroma. Slightly roast with a hint of chocolate. Full mouthfeel. Strong malt. Fairly dry. Hop presence is low but, clean, dry and tasty with a pleasing full mouthfeel.

(Draught, Canal Street) Poured as copper and clear. Head was quite big and white. Aroma contained mostly fresh malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Tasted of fresh malts, fruitiness, bitterness and hops. Finished malty.

Tap at the Salem Location: Deep copper pour with a light thin lacing head. The aroma displays apparent diacetyl- butterscotch and caramelized grains dominate. Light body with a macro carbonation to it. Grainy nondescript flavor with a touch less diacetyl than the aroma. Has a late nondescript peppery note and a touch of phenols in the middle. Eh.
