3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 womencantsail (3927) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - OCT 4, 2011
A: The beer pours, not surprisingly, a red-amber color with a finger of off-white head.
S: Aromas of toasted bread and toffee to begin with. The hops follow with some grassy notes and a bit of citrus peel. It becomes a bit more caramel forward as the beer warms up a bit.
T: The flavor is very similar. While the balance of hop and malt character is good, the flavors sort of clash. Bitter pine and citrus peel don’t seem to meld well with the toast, toffee, and caramel flavors.
M: The body is medium with smooth, medium carbonation.
O: There was something about the flavor that was just a little bit off to me, otherwise not bad.

Not my kind of red. Hooey, full bodied, and smooth. Just too bitter and cold for a fall/winter brew. Its me i swear

On tap at the Fenway location. Very tasty looking red color. First impression is of a pleasant caramel malt. The flavor is filled out with some nuttiness and a little red fruit. There is a subtle bitterness on the finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear ruddy dark orange color. Smelled of spicy malt. Medium bodied and slightly tart with mild bitterness. I tasted dark fruits, a hint of cherry, spicy malt, and delicate milk chocolate. A toffee note emerged at the end. Pretty standard amber, but a good one.
