(Bottled, 0.375l) Opaque, light red wine color with practically no head. Very berryish aroma of slightly sour cherries and hints of anchovies. Very distinctive, very natural, unsweetened cherry flavor - so far the most natural in any kriek I’ve had! Medium-bodied, medium-tart palate with very low carbonation. A truly beautiful, easily drinkable and enjoyable kriek!

75cl bottle. 2009 vintage. Pours like a gorgeous red wine, deep ruby red with no head at all. Just a ring of bubbles from the vigorous pour. Aroma is cherris, dust and leather. Tons of cherries and little tartness. Taste is again a flood of tart cherries, with little sweetness and just a tad of acidity to speak of. Slighly dusty flavors, but the cherries completely dominate. The tartness is extremely gentle. Body is definitely thin and there’s no real carbonation to speak of, matbe just a little crisp, but minimally. This is definitely a nice one to try, and is quite different from the usual kriek. Anyway, a lack of complexity is evident and I think the kriek remains unbeaten.

A: Blood red. No head, no bubbles, no lacing.

S: A heavy wave of tart cherries hits with each sniff. Blackberries and leather like a nice old world syrah.

T: Juice like blast of tart cherries. Soft leather, blackberries, hints of earth and oak.

M: Still. Dead still. It works here, but I think even the tiniest bit of carbonation could be an improvement.

O: I love that De Cam bottles their kriek lambiek, it’s a different experience than the typical kriek and worth seeking out.

75cl bottle. Pours deep ruby red with some purple hints, like a Pinot Noir Burgundy wine. Smell of almond, cherries obviously (Gorsem), some darker berries as well. Taste is citric acidic (very fresh), immediately countered by a nice fruitness, finish is medium dry. All over the place, there is a slight sweetness to it (some possible addition of sugar?) but it is not disturbing the balance. The second best Kriek-Lambiek I have ever had (the best one is in the 3 Fonteinen bar/restaurant straight from the tap).

38 cl bottle @ Delirium Café, Brussels. Rated on 20.07.2010
Aroma is sour with cherries and earthy notes. Flavour has really stinging sourness and it is a bit tart too. It has berry juice -like cherry aroma and some earthy notes. Good, but the berry juice feeling disturbs a bit.

Cherry juice red colour. Aroma very strongly of cherries, more like amarena cherry than tart krieken. Some marzipan, some slight malts. Flavour sweet cherry, some tart background tones, very fruity. Loads of cherry, some other forrest fruits, noticable hints of cranberry. Still on the sweet side, but a fragrant taste bomb. Enjoyable.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2011 This is one of the best krieklambieks I had since I visited the ’day of the spontanious fermentation’ which had them almost all. I had it at bar ’de Cam’, next to the brewery as part of the ’pruufpallet’. Alot of cherry, sourness, a bit wood/oak, very good! Bottle 75cl jan 2009. Color is bordeaux very red wine. Almost no head. Smells alot like sour cherries. Taste is truly amazing alot of fruit, soure cherries, wood, barnyard. This is a lambik, but tastes like an old kriek. Still the best kriekenlambik out there (that I know of)
