YK23 (210), Israel May 24, 2008 Bottle: sweetish aroma, very soft and quite thin bodied, some lemony notes, some weak apple notes, dry grassy finish, too mild overall. ok.
omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 17, 2008 Bottled, thanks DSG! Hazy golden, small brief head. Buttery fruity nose. Sweet and soft, medium bodied with vanilla and creamy orange. Finishes slightly lactic with low bitterness. More a fruity, creamy helles than a pilsener. PilsnerPeter (1477), Flushing, New York, USA Mar 21, 2008 Bottle - Very generously provided by DSG, thanks!: Pours a light golden with a slight haze. The compact white head is dense and well retained. The aroma has some crisp apple-like fruity notes as well as a mild herbal hop touch. Fluffy light body with a crisp flavor. Very light and soft malt character with a crisp grassy bitterness to balance. A traditional and simple profile, but it’s very clean and tasty. Feels like some really soft/fresh water was used to make this stuff. Easy drinking. tomer (183), Israel Mar 7, 2008 0.5L bottle, smaal stable head, hazy deep golden colour. Strong aroma pf malt with some flowey hoppy notes.
Rich malty taste with some sweetness complented by a strong refreshing bitterness. The body is quite big for a pilesner and the beer seems more of a bohemian than a germal pilsener. DSG (867), Yuvalim, Israel Oct 23, 2007 Updated: Oct 2, 2008Re-rate 9/28/08: Slightly hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma has light yeasty notes, some butterscotch and faint hoppiness. Sweetish malty flavor with light diacetyl notes, a a mildly bitter finish with some hops. Medium-bodied. Slightly too buttery but still not bad. 6/3/6/3/13=3.1
Re-rate 11/5/07: Bottle. Slightly hazy golden color. Aroma of grassy hops, some malt, and a bit of fruits. Flavor starts with some malt sweetness and maybe a hint of caramel. Ends with a long, bitter, hoppy finish. Light to medium body. I’m very surprised, but this tastes better to me now, at home, from a bottle, than when I’ve had it on tap at the brewpub. It also seems more German Pilsener-ish now. Nicely done! 6/3/7/3/14=3.3
Draught sample at the the brewpub. Clear golden with a white head. Hoppy aroma, a bit grassy and with a bit of malt.
Malty sweetish flavor with a rather bitter hoppy finish. Body is a bit too light. OK but nothing more. Also, I’m not absolutely sure this should be categorized as a "Classic German Pilsener" since it has a bit too much malt character, but the brewer is German and the hops are German, so what the hell.
