COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our black ale has a bit of a kick. We add dried red chillies to the fermenter for a hint of fruit, and to create a dry, spicy finish.

Tap @ Fermentoren.
Pours dark red color with a large head. Herbal aroma with malts and some vegetables. Vegetables on the flavor as well, some caramel and licorice notes also. A bit harsh bitter palate with a spicy kick at the end. A bit weird but interesting. Sadly some off-notes here.

Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, chili. Flavour is more malts and coffee, with some damn tasty peppery notes in the dry finish. It’s in the aftertaste that the chilli truly shines.

caesar (4950) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2014
Bottled, medium sample. Dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark bread. Bit malty bitter in taste, slight chili burn. Beer itself is a bit watery, lacks body, but the balance with the peppers is good. They give a soft spicy touch to it without overpowering the beer.

Bottle shared @ weekly tasting. Pitch black color, medium sized light brown color. Smell and taste malts, hops, peppers, light to moderately roasty. Moderate to heavy pepper / chili finish. Nit my kind of beer, too much for me.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Fruity, dark malty aroma with a smoky touch, a peppery chili note causes a minimal prick in the nose, some dark chocolate. Taste is dry dark malty, slightly roasty, a peppery chili note, dark chocolate, cautious hints of red berries; the chili adds up to a constant, lasting prickling note, lively carbonation. I like the adding of chili.
