Fresh pine and citrus hops meet roasted malts. We think it’s all the things a Black IPA should be.

Bottle at RBSG 2014. Thx to everyone for sharing today’s bottles! APPEARANCE: light clouded brown beer, small unstable beige head. NOSE: lots of coffee, chocolate, mocha, vanilla. TASTE: hoppy, coffee.

330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to Erwin! Dark brown. Bitter roast, soy, bitter, touch pine, faint chilli-like quality. Very bitter roast, herbal, resin, touch ashes, liquorish, lingering bitterness, pine. Very grainy. Bit too bitter & roasted for my personal preference, still nice.

Clear dark brown color with a large, creamy - frothy and open, good - fair lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, citrus, grapefruit, orange - citrus, light wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long duration, pine bitter, citrus, chocolade, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140207]

Tap@CBF2014 - black pour with small bubbly tan head. Fresh citrusy and roasted malty aroma and taste, big grapefruit and pine on the palate, great bitter finish. One of the best BIPA’s I have had so far. Lovely stuff.

Fra fad på Tap1 mai-14: Heldige meg som oppdaget et nytt og meget interessant bryggeribekjentskap, de sto ikke engang i oversikten over utstillere.En black pale ale (som begrep et oxymoron), kompetent så det holder! Fint skum, deilig aroma, utmerket munnfølelse og god balanse. En kledelig touch av kaffe både i smak og den tørre avslutningen. Må få tak i en flaske av denne.

Draught, 6.9% at KØ14. Mild hop aroma. Cloudy black colour. Small light brown head. The flavour has a good hoppiness. Grassy with a hint of pine. There is also an underlying mildly roasted malt base.
