Fresh pine and citrus hops meet roasted malts. We think it’s all the things a Black IPA should be.

Lovely hoppy aroma. Black with solid head about 2 cm. Bitter taste, long after taste that is felt far back and on the sides of the tongue. Overall a wonderful beer.

Bottle @ home. Opaque black color, full sized creamy light brown head that lasts for a long time and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, hops, fruityness, mango, pine, pineapple, tropical fruits, slightly melon and peach. I miss roastyness, it’s lovely, but I want roastyness mixed with hoppyness in a Black IPA. Nevertheless, lovely aroma. Taste is malts, lots of hops, perfect bitterness, nicely fruity. Oh a lovely lovely beer, but imo this is not a blavk IPA, because it doesn’t have enough roasted malts. The thing is, I really love this beer and actually don’t want to say anything bad about it. It’s absolutely delicious, but as a black IPA, imo it misses roastyness. Still, don’t leave it in the store, delicious stuff!!

300 ml bottle Great black colour, huge creamy beige, very stable head, light carbonation. Aroma of pine, mango, pineapple, resin, grapefruit, some roasted malty aroma. Taste is malts, fruity hops, liquorice. That’s very refreshing beer, perfectly balanced.

Here comes a happy rating. Because this was spot on for my likings. Solid perfect Black IPA. Smooth balanced and tasty like a little horny devil. Complex and rich aroma and flavor. Nothing to dominant. Solid lasting beige head on top of a black body. Grapefruit hoppy, some pine, balanced coffee, some chocolate, mild roasted and a fine tropical fruity back. I want more!

Picked this bottle up half price at Bierkoning in Amsterdam in 2014. Expired, but still exceptional. Pine crispness with some impressive roasted character.

Pours dark brown, almost black, topped with a hefty and nicely lasting creamy beige head. Sweet fruity and some citrusy notes, resin presence with roasty backbone, also some milk chocolate and cocoa combined in it. Some fruity sweetness supported by nice chocolate feel upfront, moderate bitterness in the finish, not too hars at all. Medium body, silky texture. Gentle bittery aftertaste with some roastiness.

Tap@CBF2014 - black pour with small bubbly tan head. Fresh citrusy and roasted malty aroma and taste, big grapefruit and pine on the palate, great bitter finish. One of the best BIPA’s I have had so far. Lovely stuff.
