‘Black Irish’ is often a description of people of Irish origin who had dark features, black hair, dark complexion and eyes. A popular theory suggests the Black Irish are descendants of survivors of the Spanish Armada. A Dublin Extra Stout. Gutsy and bitter. Brewed with roasted barley, Maris Otter and crystal malt and Bullion Willamette, Chinook and Simcoe hops.

330ml bottle from 2D2Dspuma. @home 03-06-2014.
In short: a dry bitter stout.
Pours black with some nice tan head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Some visible flocks of sediment. Roasty, cocoa, liquorice and some off aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, some oily texture. Taste is roasty, coca, some nuts, quite bitter, some dry harsh notes. Not so balanced.
Funny copy of BrewDog logo in the crown cap.
