330ML bottle. Light brown and clear. Skunky hop aroma. some roasted cereal and rice. Soy sauce for coloring. Flavor of corn and rice. Not too far from a Soy sauce colored Miller Lite. Surprisingly better than expected.

From a twelve ounce bottle - Pours a clear brownish red. Below average carbonation, and lacing. Smells of mild malts and mild hops…maybe some rice or other adjuncts? First sip is surprisingly lighter than expected, some mild bitterness. Weak malt backbone. On a whole not very good but better than their lager

It is a great beer. I am prety used to the standard beer lao but this is a quality addition to what they do best. Its a little bitter and heavy but it is a great mix of the pluses of most darks I have head with a lot less drawbacks.

Less distributed than the normal beerlao that you see in about 100 retail outlets in every street in every town. Pours a light clear brown with a tight white head. I’d say it’s more like a vienna than a schwarzbier... but anyways. Slightly stale aroma, some light toast, caramel and dried apricots. The mouthful is a bit lifeless and plain. The alcohol shows a bit without contributing much to the body, instead giving a vineous note. Its moderately carbonated. Flavour has a touch of sweetness, caramel candy and a hint of bitterness. Maybe a touch salty too. The beer as a whole is as lifeless as an easter egg, but sitting in a unheated restaurant on a near freezing night in Phonsovan... its as close as you’ll get to the warmness of the imperial stout that you want so badly.

Bottle: Thanks beastiefan2k: Dark orange with a bubbly film of head. Has a cherap pale malt aroma. Slightly grassy nose. Thin body with a slight sweetness and a real macro feel to it. The finish is slightly metallic. Eh...

Bottle courtesy of beastiefan2k. Amber coloured pour with a smell that can only be described as "macro". Pale malt with a touch of light nuttiness. Lightly honeyish. It’s drinkable, but it’s not good.

Dragged all the way from Laos by my family, thats true love. It pours clear copper/amber (not quiet what the name "Dark’ usually evokes) with a small head. Aroma is light corn, sticky cheap malt liquor, sweat and a macro-ish feel all around. Not bad but very third world of course. Taste is similar but a but easier to drink then expected from the aroma. Hey a beer from Laos could be much worse. Definitely not a schwarz... is amber malt liquor a style?
33cl bottle, Russian River wine-like glass.

Sampled @ GJBF Yokohama: Dark brown, nose of light malt, some caramel and fruit. Malty, decent dark lager, but not that dark.

Med-amber color. Toffee, caramel, toasted malt nose. Sweet malty start, toffee, milk chocolate. Too light and not balanced, but not bad.
