4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a small white head. Roasty caramel and rice aroma. Tastes of rice and honey, but it is not sweet and there is a very mild bitterness to it. Mild palate with a pleasant bitterness.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Medium white head. Sparkling clear dark brown colour. Uniquely sweet honey rice aroma and something I cannot really fathom. Wonderfully caramelly roasty taste with a lasting palate. A true gem.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Forget the idea of a western style dark beer, thick and heavy. This is a dark lager for South-East Asian conditions. It has more flavour than the lighter "beerlao" lagers, but not so filling that you need to release the trouser belt a notch. A pleasant but not overpowering taste. If you are looking for a heavier beer in Laos try the ABC stout.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark brown with a small head and little lacing. Aromas are sweet, caramel and malt. The taste is a caramel and very little bitterness. All in all a decent dark beer that is very easy to drink.
By far one of the best beers in Southeast Asia!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smaczne piwo o brązowo-czerwonym kolorze. Ciemne piwa egzotyczne są jednak trochę przesłodzone ale mimo to niezła ciekawostka smakowa

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 6.5%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Unusual aroma, marzipan / artificial almond flavouring, some caramel and rice. The flavour has some caramel malts, but is not very sweet. Hints of almond essence again. Esoteric, but not a great beer.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Much better than the local Indochinese lagers, this is still a poor beer. Too watery, with hardly any aroma. The "black beer" taste is over diluted.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured dark brown with a smallish head. Sweet malts. This is type of cheap beer I like mix with a cheap corn lager to give it some taste when there is nothing else available like in Latin America and parts of Asia.
