Same tinge of carbonation as the regular lager. Root beer color, very slight toasty flavor, initial bitterness and no sign of any sweetness. Good watery drink to wash down spicy food but not much else.

Bottles in Laos in the past. Most recently a bottle in Bangkok restaurant. Pours dark reddish brown. Clear. No head. Aroma is malts and toffee. Smooth malty taste. Barley and maybe even some yeast. Quite good but watery.

Poured from bottle to glass. Dark copper brown hue with tan head that settled. Aroma is bready, grain, cereal, toffee, caramel. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet with a clean finish. Overall this beer is ok.

Alengrin (2351) - BELGIUM - SEP 28, 2014
Tropical Vienna lager with stable, sticky, off-white head and clear copper colour. Sweetish caramel aroma, popcorn, cooked rice, iron, some grassy hops. Simple taste of caramel sweetish malts, sourish rice touch, bit metallic, very low hop bitterness in the finish. A bit bland but interesting nonetheless.

Bottle at a Thai restaurant. Brown amber with a fine head. Nose of caramel and grass, rather faint. Light, grassy flavor, caramel. Crisp tropical feel.

South-East Asia is not a fantastic place for beer, although there are some pretty good ones. This Lao beer is one of them. Dark, smooth. A nice white head, good roasted flavours and some chocolate / caramel flavours.

An interesting - but strong - beer. To my mind its a very pleasant "burnt malt" taste. Dark brown verging on black with little head, but a very full flavour. Body is more largerish, but plenty of punch. LBC is a 50% state owned 50% Carlsberg jv.

Bottled from Grocery Outlet. Malty and somewhat sweet up front. A bit of roastiness in the finish. Maybe a little watery at times, but still a pretty clean beer with a decent amount of flavor.

Atlanta, Ga. - Total Wine - Perimeter - 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a decently thick off-white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma has a hint of dates, some molasses. not off-putting. Some dates, a touch of bubble gum, hints of chocolate in the flavor, some nuttiness in the back end. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Much better than expected.

Bouteille 330ml. Couleur ambrée foncée, peu de mousse beige laissant une fine dentelle. Arôme de malt grillé, caramel. Goût de malt grillé, maïs, légère amertume. Carbonatation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen.

Light brown pour with an off-white head. Slightly malty aroma, notes of caramel and biscuit. Flavor is watery and weak. There’s just no depth to this brew at all.
