640 ml bottles at a couple of places in Laos. Oh dear. I thought the first bottle was a dud but sadly it wasn’t. Not a patch on the regular Beerlao Lager Beer. Tastes like it saw Namkhong (the Heineken pitch) and thought, hey, you can make a less tasty beer and get more money. Same old same old, international pretty stuff.

640 ml fles.

You could expect something better than regular Beerlao, but it’s not. Anyhow, not bad at all.

Gold it is, in colour i guess. Or clear fuzzy yellow. taste minimal, I think less notable than the regular beer lao. Harder to find but not really worth the effort. Drank in a big bottle from the corner store on an overnight sleeping bus to Vietnam and maybe that was my problem - nothing too distract me from absorbing the non-existent taste

I couldn’t pick much of a difference either. Clearly some more spice character running right through the palate which is probably enough to lift above the standard Beer Lao. Indeed this is somewhat better upon reflection.

Bottle@Hotel. Tried it next to the normal Beerlao but the difference was very little. Probably the Saphire hops they used, which aren’t strongly present but making it a little less refreshing.
