Its so good especially in the heat of Lao I cant believe its rated so low. Its flavorful, clean and clear flavor. There is little to no bitterness or detracting aftertaste. The Lao are and should be proud of the quality of their beer. Too bad I pay 12 dollars for what would cost me 2 in Lao.

If you ever expected something like this, you are a real believer. These Lao people know how to make a really good beer, and they’re sooo proud about it. Simply Awesome.

Talk of the town from the folks from Laos. The low rating are from old stock and brewery shills): Micro bubbles make a pillow soft white head that welds to the glass for an hour. The spicy hops mixed with neutral rice remind me of an extinct Andecker product from Pabst.A 5 star product from this corner of the globe.A very interesting brew that should be seeked out .H.C.Foods in Commerce,Ca.Coded date):If Carlsberg owns this it would be there best brew.People from Laos enjoy a good brew to have such a refreshing product.

I didn’t expect a lot from this but was pleasantly surprised. Yellow with some sweetness and a honey like flavour. Quite a dry finnish and left lots of lacing.
Well balanced with a quite smooth texture. A nice surprise.

Golden colour. Grassy-fruity hop aroma. Some light pale malt notes. Full body. Moderate bitterness (20 IBUs). Grassy hop note is well balanced by clean pale malts. Well-made. An example of what the pale lager style can and should be. Not that it will blow you away - it probably won’t, but it is an excellent example of its style. Ten days in Laos and I didn’t get bored of it at all. Compare that with my one-night fling with Singha...

I define Beer Lao as a light carmel brew with a sweet malt, and flavour rice grain that when poured gives off a foams that delivers a aroma of wheat, rice grain, and sweet malt that qickly disspate into the air, enriching it’s surrounding and adding a crisp to your taste buds. Provided beer lao comes in a soft amber bottle that’s ambient to any environment. Enjoy !
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 flying_pig (337) - SCOTLAND - DEC 28, 2011
Bottle (330ml):
Some light malts & faint grassy hops, a fair bit of adjuncts such as vegetables and possibly rice. There is a bit of grain in there as well & a very faint amount of skunk towards the end.
Crystal clear & light straw coloured with a two-fingered size, foamy white head that has very good retention, managing to stay without receding for well over two minutes.
Grassy hops and some vegetable adjuncts to begin with and some faint lager malts. The flavour is basic but very nice. There is some mild honey and a touch of lemon.
Very smooth & very creamy feeling, the beer is light bodied and goes down incredibly well with a beautiful crisp finish.
Up there with the best lagers I have ever tried, it may not be quite as good as I remember when drinking it on the banks of the Mekong but it is still a great beer.

Bottle in Phnom Penh a couple months ago. I just found my rating on a scrap piece of paper, so here it is. Straw yellow with a thick creamy head. Faint aroma of malt, maybe yeast. Flavor is soda crackers and lemon, with some other elusive fruitiness. Refreshing finish, a bit astringent. Overall, this isn’t bad at all.
