Note (2/VI/15): We are splitting them up, today. This is for the "regular" version, that also states blond. If he sold you the "ipa" version, that’s without the word blond on the label, please enter your rating under the other version.

"In fermento veritas." Bière aux 10 épices (10 spices) BeerMania is not a brewery, the "Mea Culpa" (or Mea Maxima Culpa, the same in 75cl bottle - there is even Ultima Culpa, but that’s an incredibly large artsy glass) is brewed upon Nassers’ own recipe at a Belgian brewery. He declines so far to tell which, until he has all contracts signed and papers worked out...

Bottle. Hazy and orange in colour, white weak head. In aroma fruity, malty with solid oxidation (cardboard). In taste fruity, slightly spicy with low bitterness. Dry in the finish. Weak one.

12/VI/15 - 33cl bottle from Beer Mania (Brussels) @ home - BB: 13/XI/17 (2015-773)

Clear dark blond beer, big aery white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of banana, sweet, bit floral, soapy. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, lots of overripe banana, fruity, some citrus, yeast. Aftertaste: lots of the same overripe banana, yeast, bit of coriander, sweet finish. Meh.

Lækker lys øl, hvor en bitter eftersmag trænger igennem. Minder meget om en pilsner, hvilket den forholdsvise lave, i belgiske standarder, alkoholprocent også viser.

Bottle at Bier Mania, Ixelles, Brussels, Saturday 21st March 2015 I have the bitter version and Loz the sweeter standard blonde I guess, not a clue why they aren’t split. I am rating mine, hazy (clumsy pour) Nicely bitter reminds me a little of De Ranke XXX, maybe not quite as bitter but not far off. Lingering bitterness, dry finish. Soft carbonation, lemony in mouth. Good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

A great blend of spice and malt that goes down easy. The brewers did a great job of putting together a solid beer.

Went for the more bitter one (or so the nice lady said), -030 bar code. Light semi-opaque gold, strong white head. Slight spicy aroma with some maltiness. Sweet with a definite bitter spine. Finishes bitter with slight wateriness. Okay.

Got two bottles with different barcodes: 5425020560016 and 5425020560030. The first one - amber (dark yellow) cloudy with medioum off-white head, bit creamy and fastly dissapearing. Mention "Blond" on the label. Sweet fruity aroma (yeast+hops). Taste honey sweet at the beginning with certain sourness, followed by herbal bitterness. Herbal bitterness aftertaste with honey flowerly sweetness touch. The seocnd bottle - much lighter (despite this one isn’t "blond") yellow clear with rich stable creamy head. Bit less strong aroma, taste mostly herbal bitterness with some sourness and touch of sweet, but the same herbal aftertaste, however without any sweetness. Both beers - 6,5% of alcohol. Rating contains best values of both (for instance: aroma for the first one, appearence - for the second).

BeerMania’s ’housebeer’ to a recipe from the owner, with an exuberant, very expensive glass accompanying it. Thick, rocky, creamy, snow white head, deep ’old gold’ colour with lively sparkling. Strong sweet aroma of exotic fruits and spices (apparently 10 different spices are used here), impressions of mandarin, peach, honey, vanilla, cider, banana liqueur, floral hops, aniseed, ginger, cloves. Fruity taste with citrussy freshness, pretty strong carbo, smooth, apple, honey, aromatic dried spices, soft finish with sourish accent, sweetish but not cloying, mild flowery hops, no real bitterness. Weird but enjoyable spice beer - if Van Steenberge is indeed capable of this, then why don’t their own regular beers show more ambition?

Bue en bouteille de 33cl, couleur blonde, mousse et effervescence moyenne, une bière avec une attaque sur les épices genre cumin ou encore cardamome, un peu malté elle finit sur une note de poivre, juste agréable.
