4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Braudog (4606) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - NOV 3, 2002
Good banana aroma and honey-ish appearance. Velvet mouthfeel. Slightly bitter but no ’cardboard’ flavor of some hefeweizens. I’m not a weizen fan, but this was good.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dwyerpg (3575) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 14, 2005
Not very aromatic, heady, or cloudy - atypical for hefes. Actually tastes like it might have a little honey in it, or something else that makes it thick, but it isn’t bad at all. If all hefes were this nice, it wouldn’t be one of my least favorite styles.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - JAN 16, 2006
Poured a hazy pale yellow color with chunks hovering at the bottom. Medium sized white head. Big clovey aroma was yeasty, lavender and a little bit of funk when it warmed. Flavors of bananas and spice. Light to medium body.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 bhensonb (7577) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 28, 2008
Aromas of light fruit including citrus. Hazy, dull golden color with a vigorous white head. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Very little spice, fair amount of citrus, and of course wheat. Finish is more wheat than anything else. Leaves a light tingle behind. Just don’t perceive banana.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - AUG 21, 2006
Bottle marked 5.2% ABV. Fizzy, large white head that mostly diminished, very poor lacing, carbonated, cloudy, and a straw yellow hue. Sweet, some light banana, spicy, and clove nose. Banana was too light nosed for this style. Sweet, some acidity, light banana, spicy, and clove for the flavor. Again, too light tasting for this style. Disappointing considering this is one of my favorites beer styles. Tingly mouthfeel and medium body. Driinkable, but nothing to really rave about.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 thedm (4124) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 12, 2006
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that was long lasting and left behind a hazy typically carbonated yellow brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was malty banana apricot and fruity. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and yeast. A average hefe but not one that I would consider buying again.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 23, 2006
Hazy pale golden color with a thin white head. Mild bubble gum floral, dry earthy almost lambic grassy aroma. Starts with some dry funk but not much tartness. Bland, thin body doesn’t offer much flavor. Strange yeast choice here, not very authentic or true to style.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 aracauna (2691) - Georgia, USA - JAN 8, 2006
Cloudy yellow. A bit fizzy. Herbally aroma. Very slight banana. Super dry, almost no malt or body at all. High carbonated. Easy to drink, but doesn’t satisfy at all.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Gypsy19 (728) - California, USA - SEP 9, 2008
A very pleasant hefeweizen with notes of honey, citrus and wheat. Very smooth. Will have again if convenient, however it isn’t a superstar that I would actively seek out,

Slight estery-bubblegum aroma. Crisp mouthfeel against the tongue. Smooth and easy to drink.
