3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hotstuff (3249) - USA - AUG 21, 2006
Bottle. Large of-white frothy, fizzy head that mostly diminished, fair lacing, hazy, carbonated, and an orange, some copper and brown hue. Nose was hoppy, some maltiness, spicy notes, and some notes of oranges. Flavor was hoppy, hint of malt, spicy, and lightly tangy. Mouthfeel was slightly tingly. Medium body. Not a style that’s high on my favorites list, but this one was decent.

A nice beer that is fairly local, although it’s brewed up in Lincoln. Still, an enjoyable IPA on a hot day. Flavor is grapefruits with a nice sweet context with it, like a granola bar dipped in orange juice. Aroma has a pronounced citrus/pine zing to it with a balance of caramel. A by-the-books IPA, but it’s done well.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cletus (6064) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Pours copper with a persistent white head. Smells of grapefruit, melon, honey. Tastes bitter and citrussy with some pepper and earthy hints on the finish.

Bottle. the body was dark gold with an off white head. The aroma was grapefruit with some caramel and toast. The taste was fairly bitter with some grapefruit. There was also some cheap tobacco. A waxy, spicy finish.

~Pours a copper orange colour with big fluffy white head. Tons of lacing.
~Sweet smell with piney hops. A little on the sweet side for me.
~Flavor starts out sweet then gets hoppy and finishes bitter sweet.
Citrusy fruits and grassy hops.
~Nice bitter dry finish
~This is a really nice IPA.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 AmEricanbrew (4111) - roam, Louisiana, USA - FEB 7, 2008
Medicinal smell at first. Clear amber with rising bubbles. Nice foamy 2" head. Sweet medicinal and caramel taste with a bitter finish. No real hop flavor here. Probably an old or infected bottle.

Jesse brought back a whole slew of beer from Vegas that we can’t get out here. This is one of them. Thanks amigo. This one pours an orange honey color with a full lingering froth. I really like it when you pour a beer right from the fridge and it throws up on you this huge head. Good stuff! Sticky lacing leads to a spongy island that floats in the midst of a full, fluffy ring. Aromas are a little weak with sweet sodium malts and shellfish. Full nectar with mellow residual effers. The texture is a bit oily. This is a malt bomb yet not so sweet. It has a strict hop essence that penetrates the flabby goomeister. Some nuances of caramel, sodium, hop acids, and shellfish. This brew has remakable balance. The finish is bittered wisely leaving a lingering citrus rind component to ponder.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (23918) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 29, 2007
Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a fluffy orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of hops, giving it a slight dusty note, combined with notes of oranges. The flavor is sweet malty again with strong notes of hops, giving it notes of grapefruit and grass, combined with a somewhat artificial and weird fruityness of oranges and apples. The finish is dry and rather bitter.

Bottle. Poured a hazy, light brown color with fine carbonation driving a solid, off-white head. Good lacing and the head lasted until the last taste. Nice IPA but the bitterness in the finish lingered more than I like. Still I enjoyed it especially for the price (2.99 for 22oz).

Hazy amber brown with a chunky long-lasting head. The descrription caption says "Hops, hops, hops!", but for me this IPA was all about the malt, malt, malt. I’ve said it before that I like a malty IPA, but this beer tested my preference. Aroma is dominated by barley brewing cereal with some reinous hop notes. Palate profile is the same, with chewy malt dominates with a sound resinous bitterness bringing up the finish. I liked it, although it isn’t among my favourite IPAs. Shared with Parksy, who didn’t care for it at all.
