3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Onenote81 (899) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Originally reviewed: 12/7/09. Bottle poured into my pint glass. Pours a dark tawny amber with a thin creamy tan capper. Little lace sticks as I sip. Scents of toffee, plum, molasses, and spices.
Body is creamy at the onset, but finishes with a nice carbonation pop. Flavors of mild cinnamon, some molasses, licorice, and mild hops. This is a good Winter brew here. Not your typical spicy all-cinnamon Xmas beer. I like it. Recommend.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark brown with less than a half finger of nut brown head. Aroma of chocolate, cinnamon, dark fruits and caramel. Taste is light bitter. Cinnamon and spices with dark fruit, coco and caramel. Medium-full bodied with a creamy thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. This one may be interesting aged.

Bottle, compliments of Mike. Poured a black color with huge tan head. Cool looking bubbles and lace. Body was on the thick side, very soft. Nose is cocoa, nutmeg, rust, very rich malts and fruit. Taste was mostly chocolate but had other strong notes of nutmeg/clove, juicy orange from the hops. Very good beer. I think the bottle was 3 or 4 years old. Thanks Mike.

Brown black color with hops floating throughout. H/f head brownish color. I smell a bit of chocolate in there but no cinnamon. Considering the hops not really bitter. To me this seems like a great winter beer when you nĂ©e a change in pace from the porter stout usuals plus for two bucks a bottle can’t be beat.

Ok I may be a bit biased because I love Christmas and this is my favorite style of beer when its done right....Got to have a decent holiday ale at Christmas time.... Was a bit scared of this as I was not impressed by one of their other beers after reading up decided to go back for a sixer glad I did...
Yummy you can taste the alcohol at first Minty piney they got this one close to Anchor Steam Special ale and thats a compliment Easy drinking goes down good hard to tell what spices are in there but the tasteis awesome. No head small bit of lacing on side of glass. Very well done. Wow going to put a few away for next holiday season and maybe even go back and grab the other couple sixers that were there.,Not an everyday beer but a pleasure to have on occasion. Tastes great more filling. Wow Christmas came a month later for me

Draft. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Sweet and toasty malty aroma, with some clove-like spices. The flavor has spicy clove and ginger, light roasted malts, some sweet malt, and light toasty notes. Pretty good.
