Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Filmy beaten gold under a sudsy white dome. lemon jelly, wine gums, pineapple, slight mineral aroma. Hintsof bite, wine gumminess, lemon and lime, pale biscuit. Good, but a bit wishy-washy from The Doctor.

Cask Handpump at the Village Hall, Appleton Thorn 03/07/2008 Very malty aroma. Small white head. Clear golden coloured a little rich on the palate and sweet with a crisp and slightly dry full malt finish.

A Mes rate: Cask at Fringe.
Clean pale gold with just a thin white rim topping. Reasonable condition though. Massively fruity aroma full of peach, pine, apple, water melon and a yeasty / bready note in the background. A damn good smell. Flavour follows on in a similar vein but can’t quite match the quality of the aroma. All I needed was some bitterness but I got none. Feels a little unrefined to me but all the fruity notes are there. Still good but the only very slight dusty hops in the finish do not sort the lack of bitterness. With some better finishing hoppage this would be excellent, as it is, it’s decent.
