Cask handpull at The Babington, Derby. Gold, thin lasting cream head. It’s a golden bitter, slightly perfumed. Oddly perfumed golden bitter. Few hops on end. OK.

Cask handpull, Whitefriars, Coventry, 12/06/11. Pale and dusted with complicated lace.. Lychee and blackcurrant aroma with a glug of Sauvignon. Lovely soft tropical fruit (lychee, white grape, mango), nettle and blackcurrant notes easing into a lingering malted milk, honeyed biscuit finish. The kind of pale hoppy sfuff Abbeydale (especially under the Beerworks alias) occasionally excel at, and the kind of beer that makes me wonder why the hell I didn’t just have another one. The Doctor delivers again.
