Cask. Small & creamy lasting tan head atop a deep, slightly particulate opaque brown body. Quite oxidised. Red berries, port, prunes on the nose. Similar again on the palate with a bit of apple and a subtle fruit skin bitterness in the finish. An ever so slight roastiness running throughout. Medium body with a lingering sourness, soft mouthfeel. Beyond its best I think it’s safe to say.

Cask. A nut brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of malt and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, honey, and spices, leading to a dry honey-like finish.

Clear dark brown color with a average, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, light chocolate, light honey. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, licorice, honey notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100120]

Cask. Pours a clear dark orangey brown with a creamy beige head. Roasted aroma, some coffee accents. Light body, flat, roasted malts, dried fruit and a light underlying tartness. Has a lightly malt bitter finish. 200110

Bottle. Black beer with a strong head - slight reddish tinge. The aroma is quite strongly roasted and the flavour is deeply roasted and bitter. Overall a nice beer.

Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are earth and dry with berries. Quite spicy. Flavours are smoky with coffee malts. Peppery and earthy. Simple yet decent.
