2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle in nonic imperial pint glass: Pours near black with a lovely creamy tan head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of heavy roast and char, oat husks, dark bread, herbal hops and faint soapy note. The taste is very astringent and burnt so that it comes off more akin to a dry stout than a sweet stout which most oatmeal stouts are. Very moderate coffee and oatmeal notes, very minimal sweetness or for that matter hop character. The mouth feel is thin and lively with the expected very ashy finish. Disappointing beer, looks real nice and the aroma is solid enough but the taste/palate are quite lacking.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from La Primera. Batch #27. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head leaving many spots of lace. Aroma has coffee, chocolate, molasses and oats with some caramel. Taste is of sweet caramel, roast, some cocoa. Oatmeal over the top of everything is a smoother. Medium bodied or a bit thinner. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet and somewhat short. Decent offering. Very easy drinker.

Wonderful coffee aroma and straightforward, full bitterness. Slight soapiness on the top, otherwise nice flavor. Not impressed with the head. Overall a solid entry from Begyle. The aroma may be the best Iíve experienced in a while.

Poured thick black with very little head. Easy to drink with subtle flavors. Malt, oats, caramel, sugar. Some hops. This would be great on tap.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow, pours black, thin creamy head. Great nose for an oatmeal stout. Expected a bit more sweetness, compared to the nose but I wasn't disappointed at all. Good brew!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A very pleasant brew on par with some of my most favorite stouts. Very biscuity, doughy on the nose with hints of cocoa nibs and coffee. Especially pleasant mouth feel, pours a deep dark brown to black that bubbles slightly but fades. No lace on the glass. Deliciously viscous, thick, and complex. My first pour from Begyle, looking forward to trying more from them again soon.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Roasty, hoppy, slightly fruity. A robust oatmeal stout that uses the mildness of the oats to amplify roasted characteristics.
