(22oz bomber) deep brown, foamy tan bubbles. Nose of oak, celery, burnt sugar, oats, coffee. Taste is very dry, chocolate, coffee, oats, very carbonated, overly so.

This is a very nice looking beer. It pours deep black w/ a long lasting head of small and evently sized bubbles. Lace sticks to the side of the glass in big sheets. This is a down-the-middle American stout and that is just fine by me. Its nose is roasty w/ a bit of malt that implies sweetness. It is only a bit sweet when you taste it though with a slight tart tang that combined with the roast brings to mind chocolate covered raisins. This is a medium bodied beer, maybe on the light side of medium, and it finishes with a lingering roastiness on the tongue. This is a damn decent stout. I would probably buy it again if it came in six packs rather than bombers.

A very well done oatmeal stout. Extremely smooth to drink, low on alcohol content. Had a nice chocolately finish and smells like chocolate. Had at home ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wow, ratings all over the place. The one I had was batch 37 I believe. Anyway, I reckon it was a decent session stout, the taste I’ll agree was a bit oatmealy sweet and a bit dry and a little but baltic portery. However decent stuff I’ll say. Serving: Bottle

Bottle in nonic imperial pint glass: Pours near black with a lovely creamy tan head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of heavy roast and char, oat husks, dark bread, herbal hops and faint soapy note. The taste is very astringent and burnt so that it comes off more akin to a dry stout than a sweet stout which most oatmeal stouts are. Very moderate coffee and oatmeal notes, very minimal sweetness or for that matter hop character. The mouth feel is thin and lively with the expected very ashy finish. Disappointing beer, looks real nice and the aroma is solid enough but the taste/palate are quite lacking.

AWISLguy (1418) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Bomber from La Primera. Batch #27. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head leaving many spots of lace. Aroma has coffee, chocolate, molasses and oats with some caramel. Taste is of sweet caramel, roast, some cocoa. Oatmeal over the top of everything is a smoother. Medium bodied or a bit thinner. Finishes to the sweet side of bittersweet and somewhat short. Decent offering. Very easy drinker.

Wonderful coffee aroma and straightforward, full bitterness. Slight soapiness on the top, otherwise nice flavor. Not impressed with the head. Overall a solid entry from Begyle. The aroma may be the best I’ve experienced in a while.

Bottle. Pours black with thick tan head. Nose and taste of roast chocolate malt, vanilla, burnt oatmeal, burnt coffee, chalky malt and burnt barley/grain. Medium body.
