3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 motelpogo (5046) - Plzen, - NOV 21, 2004
on tap in vohenstrauss and served in a kellerbier style ceramic mug with a lid on it and, as i learned to my horror halfway through the beer, a slice of lemon floating just under the giant head. aroma of nutmeg and pepper and banana gelato. some sweet banana nectar flavours with a little hallertau kellerbier passionfruit pip in the finish. some wheat sourness, pretty interesting stuff
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (7037) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011
11/10/11/10//10
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Quack-Duck (5921) - Down South, GERMANY - JUN 6, 2009
5l mini cask, bought at the brewpub. Cloudy pale yellow colour with a large and creamy white head. Interesting aroma of wheat and wild yeasts, the aroma storngly reminds me of Gueuze-Lambic. The first thing I notice is the pleasant mouthfeel. Unlike many beers of the style, this is not overly carbonated which results in a smooth and velvety palate. Wheaty flavours dominate with an initial fruityness (banana). Slightly sour and erthy hints also tune in, again I am reminded of wild yeasts and Gueuze beers. Earthy-dusty hop flavours beldn in for a lingering dry finish. A highly unusual and impressively delicious Hefeweizen.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 markwen (1) - GERMANY - FEB 4, 2005 does not count
I live not far away from the brewery, and I am brewing weissbier by myself, too, always trying to get close to this weissbier. I never made it.
This one has a really unique taste.
