3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 3fourths (6399) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 7, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2007 Consumed at de Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam, May 2006 Hefe-wheat yeast smell with a syrupy sweet candy sugar note as well, as I’ve learned is apparently typical of Dutch attempts at Belgian and German styles. Has a very slight haziness in a mostly gold body. Flavor is all sweet up front, lactic sour on the back with a grassy, spinach leaf sweetness rounding out the experience. Too sweet. Finishes with an oily texture, not dry.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 15, 2006
Draught. Aroma of brick dust. Cloudy, dark copper/grey colour. Small stable white head. Flavour is a lot better than aroma suggests. Quite malty and a little sweet with some aroma hops. Nice carbonation which makes it easily drinkable. A little more alcohol and it would be very good.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Savad (58) - Den Bosch, NETHERLANDS - JAN 3, 2006
Bottled. Frothy, creamy top. Infected-wise murky body. Indeed, all signs of incipient infection, even though the bottle is few weeks old. Sour notes in the aroma, mashed citrus. Also herbal scents. Watery with fizzy carbonation. Fermented fruits in the flavor, grape mash. Not disgusting, not certainly would become so after some time. Not for storage. No wonder it catches infection – they bottle the beer to the tourists’ delight right in the restaurant.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - DEC 24, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2008 Tap@Brewpub, Sep 08, 3.0: Hoppy citrus aroma with some malts. Cloudy, dull yellow color, beige fine head, good lace. Light sweet, light malty, bitter, citrus, bit metallic in the finish. Flat mouthfeel. Ok but boring. Bottle@Home, Dec 05, 2.8: Herbal start but later mainly citrus. Cloudy, dark yellow color, off-white head, very nice lace. Sour lemon start but this gets easier, after that still citrus, herbal, light hoppy bitterness, malty sweetness underneath. Was bottled just 3 weeks before but an infection was clearly there already. Should re-rate it on tap some day.
