3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught (Beiaard, Amsterdam)
Forboding, yet inviting toffee-coloured turbid appearance. Light creamy head. Toffee in the aroma too - promises some alcohol perhaps? Dry and nutty taste. Sticky, coats the mouth. Quite like a brown ale in part, but a bit too fizzy. Not a coherent beer experience; the smell and taste didn’t match each other, for example.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Draught@De Beiaard) Hazy dark reddish amber with a medium, foamy and lacy head. Caramely, slightly tart, slightly homebrew’ish aroma. Caramely-toffeeish, semi-sweet flavor with some dried fruit. Medium-bodied, very smooth and not too sugary mouthfeel. An easily drinkable, quite nice, but forgettable bock.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap, Café De Beiaard Enschede. Served cold so the aroma is a bit indifferent. The flavor is not, however. Caramel at first, followed by a fair deal of roasted malt. Relatively dry. Butter and a hint of diacetyl. Certainly not bad.
