UPDATED: FEB 4, 2005 When I tasted it, it was still brewed by Leyerth (Steenberghe) but they are brewing it themselves now. Butterscotch aroma with light spices (is this ginger?). Dark brown color, light brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, light bitter, butterscotch, nice sourness in the finish, little sticky.

Had this beer at the Beiaard Beer Cafe in Hoorn (10/18/2011) A typical herfst bok, though lacking depth in the usual caramelly sweetness.

29th November 2010.
On tap at De Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam. Clear labelled ’Bock Ros 2010’ - new recipe? Clear brown - red beer. Good creamy tan head. Light soft palate. A little dry. Trace of minerals and then slightly burned toffee. Well integrated in some supressed orangey hop bitterness. Tiny trace of bubblegum sweetness in the finish. Fresh and nicely jioned up. Postscript: Did not notice any ginger in this at all!

Aroma of a whitbeer. Darker in body though, strange orange-brown unclear color. Smoky flavour, and dry and bitter finish. I’m glad I tasted it, but its no favourite. Served in a funny glass mad a bit angry barman :-) Ok, my belgian is not very good. (Tap De Beiaard, Amsterdam, 07.12.2008)
