3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served in a thistle-shaped glass at the brewpub, dark brown and a little muddy with a huge creamy tan head.
Aroma after warming is classic bock - blended melanoidin malts with a toasty complexity, and the flavour follows suit. Its fairly clean with a mild but noticable bitterness that just lingers slightly.
The carbonation is a tad low and the body is light-medium, so the mouthfeel was a bit watery, the only slight disappointment in this otherwise very easy to drink beer. Alcohol is well hidden.
(The beer seemed young - shame it’s not likely to get a chance to age as it would improve nicely)

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Drinking from tab at bockbeer festival Amsterdam.
In the aroma cow dropping, but some sweetness.
The clear copper beer has a off-white head.
In the taste caramel and malt.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Served way too cold. Deep brown almost black with a sticky, thick, lasting, frothy, covers the glass head. Smells of raisins, grass, caramel and soft coffee roast. Medium frothy, oily body. Tastes of liquorish, caramel, raisins, and deep malt. Some brown sugar. A decent bock and probably their best beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Standard bock beer. They don’t seem to have put a lot of effort in this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Like the name. Glowing brown body and stable light tan head. Dark malts, nutty, some very light smoke. Pretty smooth sticky dark sugars and a roast background. Very decent, better than expected. Served too cold unfortunately. (On tap at PINT Bokbierfestival)

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this beer at the Beiaard Beer Cafe in Hoorn (10/18/2011) A typical herfst bok, though lacking depth in the usual caramelly sweetness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
29th November 2010.
On tap at De Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam. Clear labelled ’Bock Ros 2010’ - new recipe? Clear brown - red beer. Good creamy tan head. Light soft palate. A little dry. Trace of minerals and then slightly burned toffee. Well integrated in some supressed orangey hop bitterness. Tiny trace of bubblegum sweetness in the finish. Fresh and nicely jioned up. Postscript: Did not notice any ginger in this at all!
