Borresteijn (509), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 13, 2008 On tap @ Beiaard, Amsterdam, last year. This was the early version of the Manke Monnik Tripel. Fruity and malty sweet tripel with coriander, anis and cloves. Tasted as a bit sweeter, with more different spices and less balanced version of the Manke Monnik. SilkTork (3865), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 28, 2008 Oct, 2007 De Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam Chalky, yeasty, sweet strong pale ale. Slight underdevelopment. Hint of diacetyl. Coconut. Soft and pleasant. Miksu (1244), Jyväskylä, Finland Jul 10, 2007 Draught at De Beiaard, 7.4 % at this time. Hazy golden color with creamy head. Herbal and orangey aroma. Sweet flavor with honey, phenols, herbal hops and perhaps some coriander. Good firm bitterness. Rich balanced bittersweet flavor. JK (2394), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Mar 20, 2007 This is a good tripel but nothing especially experimental, everythng seems standard. Fruit and malt aroma. The beer is a bright, cloudy gold color and well carbonated. Sweet flavor with fruit. martinboer (1326), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 15, 2007 On tap at Bekeerde Suster. Was offered this as a freebie. Taste of a new beer, no name yet, only a tripel with 8%. Must say that I didn’t really enjoy it. A bit sour and raspy aftertaste. I gave it back and ordered an American beer (not on purpose) and they weren’t pleased.
