3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 FatPhil (6205) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 8, 2008
Draught (Beiaard, Amsterdam)
Hazy orange-red, small tight head. Sweet strong beer aroma, a bit of spice too, and a touch of alcohol. Soft sweet sticky palate - danger! Huge full-bodied taste - different components in good balance: big malt, spicy, and decent hops. Alas a bit alcoholic, as the palate warned us.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 madmitch76 (6173) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2011
7th February 2011 On Tap at the Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam. This batch coming in at 9.0% abv. Clear amber beer with a good sized off white head. Palate is softish but also manages to have a carbonated bite. Creamy malt, rich but never getting heavy. Mellow cherry stars here. Really has a nice mouthfeel all round and it hides the 9.0% very very well. Hugely drinkable. One of my (normally lager swilling) work mates said he could drink ten pints of it!

Tap@WinterbierFestival09. Vanilla aroma. Orange color, yellowish head, good lace. Sweet, raisin, vanilla, pretty bitter. Bit thinnish. Ok but not exceptional.

On tap @ the brewpub. Slightly hazy amber body with a small and dense off-white head. Quite light malty aroma with a hint of gentle roasted caramel. Flavor is malty, light caramel and a funky bitterness with some fruit. A nice and decent ale. Some strange flavors here could be the hops or the spices. Medium body and almost hidden alcohol.
